It's been Awhile . . .

Yes, it has. Over a month in fact. Or more. My apologies! Life is very busy. It seems that by the time everyone is in bed, the bottles for the night are made and I've cleaned up a little, my energy is depleted and just want to veg out for a little bit before I go to sleep or the next baby wakes up again.

What's new with us:
We have all gone through the flu - our family of five, plus my parents and siblings. Mark and my sister had it the worst, but there was a lot of diahrea with the twins. And in the midst of it all, our washing machine stopped working so we had to bring clothes across the street to wash. It's not far, I know, just inconvienient when it's diahrea. Mark fixed the washer. But the first time we used it something else had broken and when I went down to add some clothes from the rinse cycle to the wash cycle I noticed there was water on the ground. The washing machine was over flowing with water. Mark wasn't home but I called him and he came quickly. It was in the evening so everyone was in bed. At least I didn't have to deal with kids at the same time. I shut the washer off, but we still got about an inch of water in the laundry room and ajoining bathroom. It took a little while to soak up all the water, but I am glad that I caught it in time and didn't go into our entire downstairs. It turns out that one of the hoses was crinked. I also feel lucky because usually I wouldn't have gone downstairs to check on the laundry. I think God was watching over us.

During the time the twins were sick, they were getting up more at night. Sophia got up at least once during the night, which is still pretty good, but Ethan was back to getting up every two or three hours. Now that he's better, he's still getting up that often. So when my Mom got sick and couldn't help out it was really tiring. I mentioned this to my doctor and he thought he may not be getting enough food during the day. So we have started real food. This is their third day on carrots and it seems to be going well. Also making sure that we feed them cereal/vegtables at breakfast, lunch and dinner. He did sleep a little better last night. I am wondering if he needs ceral for snack before bed too - but that may be too much. Plus they are both teething.

Drew is doing very well with his toilet training. He does have some accidents but overall is dry most of the time. We have started night training and don't always have dry nights. More laundry. So far we have to wake him up a night to take him potty. But it's getting better. I've also been taking him to music lessons at our church - "Mommy, Music and Me". He seems to enjoy it, but doesn't always follow directions, or get into the songs as much as some kids, but I can see that he is starting to sing more and be comfortable and free to sing at home and on Sunday mornings. And I've taken him to drop-in gymnastics. He really enjoys that and soon he will start one round of lessons - we'll see how he likes it? We have to keep him busy or he goes stir-crazy.

Well I think that is us up-to-date. What's new with you all? We'd love to hear from you too! I'll try to write sooner this time and next time I'll add some picture - the twins are definately growing. (Ethan is already rolling over)

May God Bless you all and have a great day, enjoying this sun!

It's so great to read an update. I was wondering what had happened to you but figured that life had gotten in the way of blogging. ;)

I can't wait to see some new pictures of the twins. I bet they're getting big!
